Position Summary:


Kemper is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support the Personal Auto business across an assigned regional portfolio, including Illinois, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, and Oregon. Working closely and collaboratively across internal Product, Sales and Marketing partners, this role will drive the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies within an assigned geography.  The successful candidate will establish themselves as a strategic market growth asset, working closely with cross-disciplined colleagues to position Kemper Auto uniquely in the marketplace and drive profitable new business growth.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Define and execute agent and consumer-facing marketing and communication campaigns and initiatives within assigned geography. 
  • Achieve in-depth understanding of private passenger auto insurance marketplace within assigned geographies: key competitors, their marketing strengths/weaknesses and how we can position against them
  • Own and manage the marketing content strategy for assigned geographies, refreshing as new differentiators emerge, identifying white space opportunities or competitive needs for new features. 
  • Engage with and build valued relationship with Product State Managers, Sales Executives and other field teams in assigned geographies and ensure coordination/alignment of marketing campaigns with Product and Sales goals and initiatives. 
  • Develop in-depth understanding of target new-to-Kemper agents, emerging agents, mature/high volume agents, agent business performance and the marketing approach to optimizing quote/conversion results.
  • Coordinate and partner with larger marketing department teams (Digital, Brand, CE) to scale expertise and successful campaign approaches that optimize execution of all marketing initiatives/campaigns
  • Collaborate across the Kemper Auto marketing team to develop integrated marketing campaigns that differentiate our products/services from the market, build brand awareness, and support sales and product goals.
  • Create marketing content across a variety of channels and formats (email, video, bulletins, newsletters, blog posts, etc.). 
  • Monitor competitive news and information within assigned geographies to provide relevant and timely updates to marketing team and business brand stakeholders.
  • Utilize our marketing platform to design and deploy marketing programs and agent communications. Analyze results, cascade reporting, and make program optimization recommendations.   
  • Coordinate with Creative team to refresh current visual design, manage page content/updates, and drive internal traffic.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field
  • Four to five years of previous marketing experience required
  • Insurance or financial services industry experience preferred but not required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Results-oriented team player with the ability to build relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, execute tasks efficiently, and be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects, set priorities, and execute on tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience using Salesforce or other marketing automation platforms preferred, but not required
  • This position can be worked hybrid out of our Chicago, IL or Richardson, TX office.

  • The range for this position is $89,000 to $148,100.  When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.  This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
