Let's start with the role
We are looking for a Marketing Manager to lead the marketing strategy and execution for the Swedish market, while being based in our Malta office. Reporting to the Country Manager, you will be responsible for driving sustainable growth, strengthening the Betano brand, and delivering best-in-class marketing initiatives across all customer touchpoints.
Working closely with central Marketing, Commercial, Product, CRM, Performance Marketing, Content and Creative teams, you will develop and execute market strategies that deliver commercial results while ensuring full compliance with the Swedish regulatory framework.
As a Marketing Manager, you will:
- Own the marketing strategy for Sweden, aligning local priorities with overall business objectives and commercial targets;
- Define and monitor key marketing KPIs, including customer acquisition, registrations, first-time depositors, conversion rates, CPA, retention, customer value and brand awareness;
- Develop and execute integrated marketing plans across brand, media, performance marketing, CRM, affiliates, sponsorships and partnerships;
- Manage the local marketing budget, ensuring efficient investment allocation and maximum return on investment;
- Lead the planning and localisation of campaigns, ensuring all creative assets resonate with Swedish audiences and reflect local market dynamics;
- Collaborate with HQ teams to optimise product positioning, customer experience and promotional strategies for the Swedish market;
- Manage relationships with local agencies, media partners, rights holders and external stakeholders to deliver impactful campaigns;
- Continuously monitor campaign performance, analyse customer and market insights, and identify opportunities to optimise growth;
- Monitor competitor activity, industry trends and regulatory developments to proactively adapt marketing initiatives;
- Prepare business reviews, performance reports and strategic recommendations for senior management;
- Ensure all marketing activities fully comply with Swedish advertising regulations, responsible gaming requirements and internal compliance standards;
- Act as the local marketing expert for Sweden, building strong collaboration across international teams and representing the market internally.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field;
- 5+ years of experience in a marketing leadership role with a proven track record of driving commercial growth. Experience in online gaming, sports betting, digital entertainment or another highly regulated industry is preferred but not essential;
- Strong understanding of the Swedish market, consumer behaviour and media landscape;
- Proven experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across both online and offline channels;
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate business objectives into effective marketing strategies;
- Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision making;
- Experience managing marketing budgets and delivering measurable commercial results;
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and cultures;
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and project management skills;
- Passion for sports, gaming and digital entertainment;
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in the online betting or iGaming industry;
- Experience working within regulated markets;
- Experience managing external agencies and strategic partnerships;
- Knowledge of responsible gaming principles and regulatory marketing frameworks.
