The Role

NOTE- This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. You MUST be willing to relocate.


We’re hiring our first full-stack Marketing Manager—someone who can drive our strategy and execute it. You’ll be a one-person powerhouse who shapes and scales how the world sees us. You’ll lead content, brand, social, and storytelling efforts, creating momentum across channels with an authentic voice and a clear point of view.

You’ll report to our Chief Business Officer and work closely with technical founders and customers, so you need to be fluent in developer and technical audiences—and unafraid to dig into how the sausage is made.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the end-to-end marketing function: from strategy to execution across social, email, content, podcasts, events, and partnerships.
  • Create and repurpose content: long-form, short-form, video, podcast—whatever format best fits the message.
  • Grow and engage our technical audience, making Formant a trusted brand in the AI + robotics space.
  • Operate independently: you’re scrappy, resourceful, AI first and know how to get things done but you also know how to involve others across our whole team when the task requires it.
  • Amplify our voice: not with fluff, but with real insight. Think editorial taste meets technical storytelling.
Who You Are
  • You’ve shipped high-quality social media content—text, photos, videos, and podcasts—and you can show us work you’re proud of.
  • You think like a founder: entrepreneurial, iterative, experimental. You’ve likely been the first marketer or worn many hats at an early-stage startup.
  • You speak “engineer” comfortably, even if you’re not one. You’re credible with technical audiences and can translate complex ideas without dumbing them down.
  • You have taste. You know when something is good, and more importantly, why it’s good. You bring an editorial lens to everything you create.
  • You use AI tools naturally and creatively in your workflow.

Bonus Points

  • A portfolio of content (blog posts, campaigns, social threads, short videos, etc.)
  • Track record of growing a brand’s presence from zero to something wonderful
