Moodle with us!

At Moodle, we’re on a mission to empower educators and learners worldwide with open, flexible, and innovative digital learning solutions. As the world’s most customisable and trusted open-source LMS, we partner with schools, universities, and organisations to create better learning experiences for millions. If you’re ready to make a real impact,  and be part of a global movement shaping the future of learning, join us let’s transform education together!

About the Role

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager, Public Sector to help expand Moodle’s impact across government, nonprofit, NGO, and other mission-driven organizations, with a strong emphasis on the U.S. federal government.

This role is ideal for a marketer who understands how public institutions procure technology and who can translate complex compliance, security, and accessibility needs into clear, compelling stories. You’ll shape campaigns that highlight Moodle’s value as a secure, scalable, and compliant learning platform—and help ensure government agencies and public organizations can deliver learning that changes lives.

What You’ll Do

  • Position Moodle as a trusted LMS for government training, civic education, and public outreach.
  • Map key personas, including training managers, contracting officers, and IT decision-makers across federal, state, and local government.
  • Align messaging with U.S. government priorities: accessibility, open-source adoption, data sovereignty, and FedRAMP alignment.
  • Lead demand generation campaigns tailored to public sector procurement cycles.
  • Align marketing activities with fiscal year deadlines and RFP timelines (e.g., federal Q4 budget season).
  • Partner with the Performance Marketing team to reach agency-specific audiences through account-based strategies.
  • Build evergreen messaging to support long government sales cycles.
  • Track trends in government tech stacks—particularly open-source, cloud, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Work with product, legal, and hosting teams to ensure all messaging aligns with compliance standards (FedRAMP, Section 508, data localization).
  • Support proposal and RFP responses with targeted, audience-appropriate marketing materials.
  • Measure and optimize success across key metrics.
  • Refine campaigns based on regulatory, funding, or policy shifts that influence public sector priorities.

Requirements

We’d love to meet you

Especially if you can tell us about your:

  • You have experience marketing to or working within public institutions—especially U.S. federal agencies.
  • You’re comfortable with long sales cycles and structured procurement processes.
  • You understand the nuances of compliance-driven messaging and can translate technical detail into audience relevance.
  • You’re collaborative, proactive, and energized by mission-driven work.
