Job Description
Award-winning toy company YuMe Toys (www.yumetoys.com) has opened a new showroom and distribution center in Los Angeles to better serve our US-based customers. We seek to fill critical leadership roles, including an immediate requirement for a brand-centric and digital media-savvy Marketing Director to join our El Segundo, California team. This opportunity offers tremendous potential for advancement, ideal for a B2C senior marketer with B2B experience.
The Marketing Director will design, implement, and evaluate the performance of marketing & communication strategies for YuMe Toys' portfolio of licensed toys (Disney, Netflix, Hasbro, Among Us, and a growing roster of anime titles). The Marketing Director will be responsible for digital marketing & creative strategy, media planning, trade marketing, PR, consumer promotions and new product positioning.
The Marketing Director must have exceptional customer service, project management, problem-solving skills, and the confidence to present reports and communicate directly with clients. The incumbent will work independently and in coordination with the Accounts, Creative, and Operations teams, both local and international, as well as with outside agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the strategic marketing plan for YuMe Toys and build upon it.
- Lead and manage relationships cross-functionally and externally with retailers, distributors, and third parties to execute marketing campaigns.
- Ideation and management of marketing and PR campaigns to promote brand awareness and conversion, including social media and influencers.
- Collaborate on developing retail initiatives, working closely with licensors, sales teams, and other partners to ensure all activity aligns with the brand strategy and guidelines.
- Conduct brand presentations with retail buyers, sales reps, and distributors.
- Attend and represent YuMe Toys at key trade shows, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments.
- Build annual marketing budgets and marketing plans.
- Identify new trends to maintain our position as an industry leader and innovator.
- Spearhead the development of sales support materials such as the online marketing assets library.
- Maintain and improve the web content of YuMeToys.com to drive traffic and engagement.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of marketing experience in the licensing (brand or entertainment), toy industry, or other relevant consumer products industry.
- Deep understanding of the global toy industry landscape.
- Digital marketing strategy and execution experience are critical.
- Performance Marketing – PPC (Amazon Advertising, SEO, Email) Paid Social (FB Business Manager, YouTube) Content & Inbound Marketing PR & Influencer Marketing Mobile & Affiliate Marketing, Organic Social (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter.)
- Existing relationships with media, digital, research, creative, production, and PR agencies to tap into to help execute the marketing strategy.
- Experience in the licensing industry is a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and client-facing presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to execute results against strategy and meet critical deadlines.
- Understanding of product development, product ranges, and key toy categories.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the USA and overseas when necessary.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
