About Co-Dough

Co-Dough is a sourdough-focused bakery built on a commitment to doing things the right way — high-quality ingredients, no shortcuts, and a lot of care behind everything we make. We're growing quickly and looking for someone who wants to be part of building something long-term — not just looking for a job, but a role they can grow into.

About the Role

The Marketing & Social Media Lead is Co-Dough's first dedicated marketing hire and is responsible for how the brand shows up across social media, email, partnerships, and events. This role owns content creation, photography, posting, and community engagement, while working under the direction of management on overall strategy. Success in this position requires creativity, strong visual instincts, and organization. Critically, the ability to internalize and execute according to the owner's specific brand voice and preferences is essential for success in this role. This position requires the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with management and occasional outside consultants.

Core Responsibilities

  • Social Media (Primary Focus)
    • Plan, shoot, write, and post content for Instagram and TikTok
    • Maintain a consistent posting cadence aligned with brand voice and visual identity
    • Manage community engagement — respond to DMs quickly, comments, and tags
    • Track performance and adjust based on what's working
  • Photography & Video
    • Shoot product, behind-the-scenes, and short-form video content in the bakery
    • Edit photos and videos for social, email, and other brand uses
    • Maintain an organized library of brand photo and video assets
  • Email Marketing
    • Build and grow Co-Dough's email list
    • Design, write, and send a regular newsletter (weekly or biweekly)
    • Manage the email platform and segmentation as the list grows
  • Partnerships, Community & Events
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with local businesses, creators, and community organizations
    • Coordinate occasional in-person events, pop-ups, and brand collaborations
    • Represent Co-Dough at community moments and capture content from them
  • Brand & Strategy
    • Help maintain visual and voice consistency across all customer-facing channels
    • Work with management on quarterly priorities and seasonal campaigns

Weekly Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid — significant in-person time at the bakery for shoots, team coordination, and events; remaining hours flexible
  • Occasional weekend or evening hours required for events and time-sensitive content

What We're Looking For

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in marketing, social media, content creation, or a closely related field (internships, freelance, and personal projects count)
  • Portfolio or examples of social media work — for a brand, organization, or personal project
  • Strong eye for visuals and comfort shooting photo and short-form video with a phone or basic camera
  • Strong writing skills — captions, emails, briefs, and brand copy
  • Self-directed and organized; able to manage a content calendar with light oversight
  • Comfortable taking creative direction from management while bringing your own ideas to the table
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms, basic editing tools, or design software a plus
  • Interest in food, hospitality, or small business a plus

Required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Available to work a full-time hybrid schedule with regular in-person hours at the bakery in Providence
  • Reliable transportation to and from the bakery
  • Ability to be on your feet during shoots and events
  • Comfortable working in and around a food production environment, including allergens (dairy, gluten, nuts, eggs)

Compensation

  • Salary based on experience
  • Equipment provided as needed
  • Complimentary bakery items
