Marketing Coordinator

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Job Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of marketing initiatives across a portfolio of assigned client brands. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and marketing team, this role helps bring established marketing plans, campaigns, promotions, and events to life across social media, email, websites, and other digital marketing channels. 

This role will also support on-site content capture at restaurants, nightlife venues, and special events throughout the Sacramento area. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, creative, and comfortable managing multiple brands and priorities in a fast-paced agency environment.

Essential Functions

  • Execute marketing plans, campaigns, promotions, events, and ongoing initiatives across assigned client brands.
  • Manage organic social media for assigned brands, including developing monthly content calendars, writing captions, scheduling and publishing posts, managing Stories, and coordinating Reels.
  • Capture iPhone photo and video content on-site to support social media, campaigns, promotions, events, and other marketing needs.
  • Maintain each brand's established voice and identify relevant social trends and opportunities for organic growth.
  • Monitor comments and DMs, engage with followers and relevant local accounts, and support social collaborations.
  • Promote restaurant programming, events, menus, specials, new products, and other marketing priorities across appropriate channels.
  • Monitor organic social performance and assist with reporting and recommendations.
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns, including identifying topics, writing copy, building campaigns, coordinating graphics with Creative, scheduling sends, and segmenting audiences when appropriate.
  • Monitor Google and Yelp reviews, coordinate responses, escalate serious guest concerns, and identify recurring feedback or operational trends.
  • Maintain accurate Google Business Profile and Yelp information, including hours, menus, photography, and other relevant business information.
  • Identify and support local marketing opportunities, including community events, partnerships, cross-promotions, influencers, creators, and organizations.
  • Coordinate restaurant-level activations and support openings, events, and other major brand initiatives.
  • Maintain basic website content for assigned brands, including events, promotions, hours, menus, photography, restaurant information, and copy.
  • Identify website issues and coordinate technical development needs with the Web Developer.
  • Coordinate with the marketing and creative teams on graphics, content, photography, video, and other assets needed to execute marketing initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while communicating needs, updates, and opportunities to the marketing team.
  • Provide additional marketing support as needed.

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related field preferred. Experience supporting multiple brands, clients, or locations is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of social media, email marketing, website content management, reputation management, and local marketing.
  • Strong copywriting, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different brand voices.
  • Comfortable capturing quality photo and video content using a mobile device.
  • Basic short-form video editing experience using CapCut or similar software is a plus.
  • Experience using Canva for basic marketing needs.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Toast, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with website/CMS platforms such as WordPress, Squarespace, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Meta Business Suite and social media scheduling platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Business Profile and Yelp is preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms such as ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, and/or Trello is preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to manage multiple brands and deadlines.
  • Ability to take direction, receive feedback, adapt to changing priorities, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with hospitality, restaurant, nightlife, or lifestyle brands is a plus.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to client locations throughout the Sacramento area.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, occasional holidays, and weekends as needed for client events and content capture.
