Your Role
The Pharmacy Market Experience team is responsible for the development, management and oversight of Blue Shield’s pharmacy-related member marketing and operational communications materials and digital experience. The Marketing Communications Specialist, Consultant will report to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Market Experience. In this role you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, stabilization and continued oversight of delegated pharmacy communications as well as creating and enhancing line of business (LOB) marketing and digital communications through content strategy development, supporting cross-team collaboration related to B2B and sales enablement communications, and leading marketing or communication deliverables for annual, strategic and ad hoc pharmacy marketing/operational communications and pharmacy digital initiatives/programs.

ResponsibilitiesYour Work
In this role, you will:
Lead cross-functional teams across multiple business units to align on priorities and develop and implement comprehensive pharmacy communications strategies
Develop communication programs that incorporate a full spectrum of tools and tactics (from traditional letters to digital content and sales enablement/support materials)
Create communications through the eyes of the customer – developing holistic experiences and meaningful touchpoints
Use data to measure success and continually optimize results (open rates, response rates, returned mail, list health, etc.)
Use communication to mitigate risks through crisis management, constituent engagement, and customer service
Serve as a pharmacy marketing SME to effectively align communications with corporate, brand and regulatory requirements, and manage team’s day-to-day operational communications and fulfilment of marketing communications or digital support requests
Lead the work connected with pharmacy annual marketing and operational communications deliverables (including annual or mid-year product cycle changes, ad hoc benefits changes, Medicare Annual Enrollment Period communications and 1/1 readiness deliverables) for various LOBs
Manage annual planned or ad hoc client marketing communication and digital requests to ensure successful implementation by following up on client submissions that are off track, (re)prioritizing requests due to change controls and creating mitigation plans when issues arise
Lead development of new and/or management of existing marketing collateral, including co-branded member-facing deliverables, materials supporting B2B communications, request for proposal (RFP) content development and sales enablement collateral
Manage and prioritize day-to-day pharmacy operational tasks, invoice processing/tracking and additional project management duties as assigned
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires college education or equivalent experience
Masters degree preferred
Minimum of 7 years prior experience developing integrated, B2B and B2C omnichannel marketing plans, messages and communication campaigns required
Healthcare-related marketing and communications experience within the commercial and government program lines of business required
Requires excellent project management skills which reflect the ability to connect related information across different projects, envision and plan for end-to-end deliverables, independently drive work on complex and time-sensitive projects, and collaborate and/or lead work with multi-disciplinary/cross-functional teams, requiring minimal oversight and direction from management
Requires 5 years’ experience using project management apps/tools (i.e., Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, etc.), DAM/digital creative platforms (i.e. Adobe Experience Manager, Figma, Wordpress, etc.), Jira/GRID/Confluence and ability to lead projects/sprints using Agile principles
Requires experience in vendor management, including recent or current hands-on experience in end-to-end communications implementation and print production processes and digital marketing campaigns
Robust sense of ownership, personal accountability, and responsibility and strong presentation, verbal, and writing skills with ability to understand and convey complex ideas to audiences with diverse backgrounds

This role requires employees to be in-office based on our hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. For most teams, this means coming into the office two days each week.
Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.
