Purpose of the role

To develop and implement marketing strategies to promote brand, products, and services across various markets

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of marketing strategies and delivery that aligns with the banks business objectives and are informed by market research, customer needs and competitive landscape.
  • Collaboration with product development, sales, and other departments to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives, to achieve specific, well defined outcomes, as needed.
  • Development of compelling and targeted content for various marketing channels, including print, media and related collateral, if needed.
  • Analysis of data to make informed decisions and optimize marketing strategies, use of data analytics tools to measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Management of the marketing budget, allocating resources to maximise ROI.
  • Defines marketing vision, sets goals, clarifies objectives and works across organisations to achieve specific, well defined outcomes.

Join us as a Marketing Communication Executive at Barclays, where you'll support the planning, development, and delivery of integrated, customer focussed marketing campaigns across our range of banking products. Working closely with our team of Communications Managers, agencies and stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in co-ordinating multi-channel activity from briefing through to campaign launch, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time, within budget and in line with brand legal, and regulatory requirements. You’ll support campaign performance monitoring, and work with the team to identify opportunities to improve future activity through insights and learning. The successful candidate can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintaining solid attention to detail across projects. You will require excellent organisational skills, stakeholder management, and the ability to keep campaigns on track from briefing through to execution. 

To be successful as a Marketing Communication Executive, you must have the following essential skills:

  • Previous experience in Marketing and Communications, with a good understanding of campaign delivery and stakeholder management.
  • Experience working across digital marketing channels, such as email, web, paid media, social media, or mobile apps.
  • Knowledge of campaign planning and execution, including coordinating activity from briefing through to delivery.
  • Good attention to detail, with experience ensuring all communications adhere to brand and regulatory guidelines.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, creative teams, and external agencies.
  • Ability to review and assess creative campaign assets, to ensure alignment with campaign objectives, customer outcomes and brand standards.

       

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Understanding of the regulatory environment and the importance of ensuring marketing communications comply with relevant policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Experience using Workfront to support campaign planning, tracking, and delivery.
  • Experience supporting multi-channel marketing campaigns across customer acquisition, engagement or retention activity.
  • Knowledge of marketing communications, CRM or lifecycle marketing.
  • Understanding of campaign performance, reporting and optimisation.

This role can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.
