Marketing and Communications Intern

As a Marketing and Communications Intern at Modern Woodmen, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting social media, internal communications, website updates, digital asset organization, marketing analytics, and special projects that help tell our story.
Modern Woodmen of America is one of the nation’s largest fraternal benefit societies, with assets over $18 billion. Fraternals are unique membership organizations that pair the “member-owned” characteristic of a mutual insurance company with the “social mission” characteristic of a service organization. They unite individuals with common bonds, provide a variety of life insurance and investment products, and form one of the nation’s most effective volunteer networks.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with content creation for social media and internal communications.
- Maintaining and organizing digital assets and archives.
- Supporting website updates and design projects.
- Tracking marketing metrics and analytics.
- Helping to manage workflow and project management systems.
- Contributing to special projects such as digital asset management (DAM) transitions, Viva Engage adoptions, and content resource organization.
What we need:
- Third- or fourth-year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public relations, social media, marketing, or communications.
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Creative and eager to apply their education experiences in a hands-on atmosphere.
What we offer:
- Internship program information: Modern Woodmen’s summer internships are ideal for current college students interested in exploring the financial services industry. The program offers an opportunity for students to gain real-life work experience related to their studies while connecting with a mentor in their field.
- Pay: The hourly pay for this position is $20.00. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employment-based sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time, nor can we guarantee future sponsorship.
- Work Arrangements: This is a full-time, 11-week, office focused summer internship position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday, with flexible start time between 7 a.m.-9 a.m. Office focused positions work on-site due to the nature of the work and have limited remote days.
