Summary:

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator requires a strong understanding of marketing principles, excellent writing skills, graphic design expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The coordinator’s responsibilities include capturing content and developing marketing materials that promote programs and events, engage donors and partners, and increase community awareness. This role supports the execution of the Marketing & Communications Director’s strategic plan through email marketing, social media, direct mail, and print materials, while helping maintain a consistent and recognizable brand both internally and externally. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain and strengthen the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire brand across all marketing channels.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity in all marketing materials and communications.
  • Support and execute the developed marketing strategy, including developing and implementing marketing campaigns aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Execute social media strategies developed by the Director, managing day-to-day channel activities and producing compelling, on-brand content designed to increase audience engagement, awareness, and community connection.
  • Manage website operations including, but not limited to, compiling content and assets, writing and editing web copy, and facilitating timely website updates and new web pages.
  • Capture compelling photos and video content across Club locations and events to support digital marketing, social media, and storytelling initiatives.
  • Support the creation of high-quality, effective, and consistent marketing materials such as collateral, newsletters, videos, and special event promotions.
  • Assist with the creation of internal and external communications.
  • Assist with email platform management and correspondence. 
  • Maintain up-to-date files and inventory of all written and electronic promotional materials.
  • Responsible for all other duties assigned by the Marketing & Communications Director.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, social media, communications, graphic design, business administration, or another related field is preferred.  
  • One year of professional experience in a marketing-related field is required. One to three years of experience in a marketing-related field is preferred.
  • Experience with social media marketing campaigns or working with a non-profit organization is helpful.
  • A valid CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of employment is required. CPR training and certification is provided in-house by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, active listening, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand the mission and vision of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire and articulate them effectively.
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, punctuality, and ability to consistently produce accurate, detail-oriented work.
  • Demonstrated graphic design expertise, including experience creating high-quality digital and print marketing assets using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated copywriting, storytelling, and content development expertise, including the ability to create persuasive marketing materials that enhance brand awareness, generate leads, and support revenue growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • The following skills are not required but will help a candidate stand out:
  • Passion for capturing high-quality photos and videos that support storytelling, with an interest in further developing expertise in these areas. 
  • Experience with content management systems. 
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Constant hearing, hand-eye coordination, mind-eye coordination.
  • Intermittent speaking, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, reaching, low-level activity, and squatting. 
  • Constant keyboarding and computer work.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
  • Use of computer screens for extended periods of time.

Skills Required
