Job Description

Arcadis is seeking a Market Sector Leader, Connected Highways to join our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). This position can be based out of any of Arcadis’s Canadian offices.

The Market Sector Leader, Connected Highways is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving growth, overseeing business development initiatives, and providing subject matter expertise in the transportation sector. This role resides within the Mobility Business Area and involves developing and executing market strategies, building client relationships, and leading a team to deliver innovative and integrated data-based transport solutions to expand Arcadis’ Mobility market sector. These core services include capital project planning, design, project and construction management and enterprise asset management.


Role responsibilities:

  • Provide visionary leadership to align business goals with industry trends and emerging opportunities and applying new technologies into transport planning and design.
  • Drive the strategy to expand Arcadis’s presence in the transport market and connect with new clients to build on our success in the delivery of large capital projects.
  • Expand Arcadis’s services with existing clients by leveraging Arcadis’s global and cross-GBA expertise and talent across all areas of project planning, design, and delivery
  • Employ Arcadis’s professional consulting services of technical advisory; asset management; enterprise data management; fleet electrification; autonomous vehicles; etc.
  • Apply a client-centric approach and:
    • engage with clients directly and understand their needs at all levels.
    • build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
    • Engage Arcadis’s Intelligence GBA and tailor innovative data-led solutions; new technologies, services, and products to improve clients’ productivity and overall business performance.
    • deliver sustainable solutions that exceed client expectations.
    • encourage adaptation and application of innovative solutions and products.
    • ensure high client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Lead and support key account managers of Arcadis’s Mobility clients in Canada.
  • Collaborate with other sector leaders and business areas for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Arcadis’s global solution leaders and global peers within the UK, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, France, and Belgium.
  • Use market intelligence to inform decision-making and develop strategies for maintaining a competitive edge.


You will have excellent working relationships with and access to peers in the transportation industry, with deep understanding of this dynamic industry in North America

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or relevant certification.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a leadership role within the transportation sector.
  • Strong business development skills and a track record of successfully winning and managing projects.
  • Good knowledge of transportation planning, design and construction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align business goals with market opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified in Ontario Ministry of Transportation Registry, Appraisal and Qualification System (RAQS)
  • Previous leadership positions with public transportation agencies
  • Active leader within the American Public Transportation Association (APTA)
  • Proven understanding of the application and embedment of new technologies, products and service in the planning, design and delivery of transportation projects
