Astellas’ Global Capability Centers – Overview
Astellas’ Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are in India, Poland and Mexico.
The GCCs will enhance our operational efficiency, resilience and innovation potential, enabling a timely response to changing business demands.

This position is based in Bengaluru and will require 1-2 days onsite/week
Purpose and Scope:
This role will be responsible for driving efficiency and compliance for Primary Market Research (PMR) across Astellas by developing/maintaining common processes and executing projects that support SI&A on a portfolio-wide basis. The role will further be a key contact point for other Global functions to track and communicate operational updates relevant to SI&A.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Develop/update common processes for PMR to allow efficient execution for Global, Regional and Local projects while meeting E&C, PV, Regulatory and Medical compliance requirements
- Develop governance for use of Artificial Intelligence in Market Research projects, coordinating with Legal, E&C and other global functions as required
- Identify opportunities to streamline PMR execution and reduce operational burden for brand teams and affiliates
- Drive updates to the PMR SOP and related documentation and ensure associated trainings are kept up to date
- Coordinate with other Global Functions (e.g. PV) to maintain or update systems necessary to support reporting requirements
- Represent SI&A for audits/inspections on the PMR process and completed/ongoing projects
- Coordinate vendor management with Global Procurement, maintaining list of globally preferred vendors through ongoing vendor feedback
- Monitor PMR process KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives across studies and geographies
- Collect and communicate best practices and innovations across the market research community
- Manage common PMR projects across the portfolio (such as ATU/brand tracking), coordinating with Global Insights leads and affiliates to ensure high-quality delivery that drives insights
- Support SI&A leadership in reporting for a variety of internal Astellas stakeholders (Commercial Management, Finance, PV, IS, E&C, other Commercial Divisions)
- Represent SI&A in operational cross-functional teams or task forces
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or other related healthcare field in the area of market research, competitive intelligence, analysis and/or strategic consulting
- Experience in project management: managing multiple projects simultaneously, management of complex projects
- Understanding of the broad functions of a global pharmaceutical organization
- Deep understanding of business strategy, customers and the industry
- Strong global knowledge and extensive interactions across global operations
- Demonstrates leadership in building relationships with colleagues across multiple functions and geographies
- Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively across a global organization, both cross-functionally and cross-culturally, using available tools for collaboration (MS Teams, SharePoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA/MS/PhD)
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in maths or science
- Market Research certifications (e.g. IIPMR)
