Market Access Platform Engineer

The Market Access team builds and supports the systems that interface with markets, brokers, and data providers. These systems ensure QRT’s trading strategies can access real-time market data and execute reliably. The team is critical to supporting the firm’s growth and maintaining its technological edge.

Your future role at QRT:

You will help manage and improve QRT’s global market data systems by working closely with exchanges, vendors, traders, and internal engineering teams. Your role spans project management, operations, and technical coordination.

Core responsibilities

Basic Development Operations

• Simple development tasks involving small config changes / scripting / basic C++ changes etc
• Monitor and maintain market data pipelines (e.g., PCAP, PIDUMP, Reference Data).
• Investigate and resolve ad-hoc issues, replays, and backfills. Provide L3 support
• Support infrastructure tasks like estate ownership, on-demand setup of SIM/UAT & capacity planning
• Enhance our test suite and post deployment checks

Project Coordination & Execution

• Coordinate projects ranging from desk-driven requests and exchange-driven upgrades.
• Coordinate with developers, infrastructure, and vendors; track dependencies and deliver updates.
• Align internal teams to upcoming exchange or vendor changes.

Operational Stewardship

• Act as a liaison across technical and trading teams, ensuring efficient communication and issue resolution.
• Own release management, including PCRs, QC, documentation, and triage follow-ups.
• Maintain accurate documentation on data coverage, configurations, and workflows.
• Improve internal tooling and automation to streamline operations.

Some specializations: 

• Data/Cloud Engineering: Automate pipeline QC, support ingestion infrastructure.
• Reliability/DevOps: Develop tooling and improve observability.
• Performance Engineering: Tune systems for latency-sensitive trading.
   

Your Present Skill Set:

• Familiarity with financial markets and exchange data feeds.
• Basic development & scripting skills (e.g., Python or Bash)
• Organized, with strong multitasking and communication skills.
• Attention to detail in documentation and task tracking.
• Proactive and able to drive initiatives to completion.
• Experience dealing with data is a plus
• Some exposure to simple C++ changes/deployment will be a huge plus
