Market Data Operations – Market Data Client Support and Reporting – Analyst

Overview:

The Index & Data Solutions team (IDS) is responsible for the index and data strategy for the firm and the management of the commercial relationships with each provider. The Operations team within IDS handles all market data and index requests and works with vendors to address various reporting, invoice processing and other needs in timely manner. The group is comprised of three key areas: Client Onboarding & Service, Market Data Operations, and Index Licensing Operations.

Role Description:

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Analyst to join our Market Data Operations team in Gurgaon.  In this role, you will play a key part in managing index and market data enablement workflows the firm.  The position requires close collaboration with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure timely approvals, accurate inventory management, and seamless delivery of data services.   

As an Analyst, you will handle daily third-party market data orders, project work and business inquiries from internal BlackRock teams and external clients leveraging BlackRock’s proprietary Investment Management Platform, Aladdin. You will confirm licensing requirements and secure financial approvals before granting system or data access and maintain accurate records by updating our inventory system (MDM) whenever new data is enabled.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service when responding to client requests for index and market data services

  • Manage request workflows with third-party data providers, including contracts and inventory updates

  • Maintain changes to commercial subscriptions in third-party entitlement systems

  • Coordinate with external data providers to validate client licensing and enable market data services

  • Collaborate with IDS team members to periodically reconcile market data inventory with vendors

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records & support the billing process

  • Prepare and submit accurate market data usage reports to external providers

  • Support process reviews, recommend improvements, and assist with implementation

  • Build strong relationships with internal business stakeholders and external providers

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, math, or a related field

  • 1-3 years relevant work experience; knowledge of the Financial Services industry preferred

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are a must

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are required

  • Must be able to quickly learn and navigate proprietary systems (BlackRock’s own and third-party platforms)

  • Intermediate Excel knowledge is required

  • Experience with SQL and MDM or other market data inventory system is a plus

  • Knowledge of Market and Index Providers and ability to interpret contract terms and conditions is helpful

  • Bold and proactive with a willingness to stretch outside comfort-zone

  • Self-starter, able to prioritize and deliver multiple assignments while maintaining high quality and consistent results

  • Proven record of alignment with BlackRock's Principles
