You will be responsible for a wide range of technical and operational tasks related to marine vessels and structures as part of Site Supervision team. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of maritime equipment and systems.
Your role- Design and Engineering: Collaborate with a team of engineers to design and develop marine vessels, systems, and components. This includes propulsion systems, electrical systems, navigation equipment, and other critical onboard machinery.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on marine equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards. You will troubleshoot and diagnose issues, coordinating repairs and overhauls as needed.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all marine systems, equipment, and structures comply with industry regulations, international maritime standards, and local laws. Implement safety protocols to minimize risks and accidents.
- Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and performance of marine systems, such as reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Implement energy-saving measures and innovative technologies where applicable.
- Project Management: Manage marine engineering projects, including the installation of new equipment, modifications to existing systems, and upgrades to enhance vessel capabilities.
- Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in marine engineering and technology. Participate in research and development initiatives to integrate new solutions into marine operations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as naval architects, shipbuilders, and offshore personnel, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- 15-20 years of work experience in marine engineering or a related field (the exact experience requirement may vary based on the position level).
- Strong knowledge of marine systems, naval architecture principles, and marine regulations.
- Familiarity with marine engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in English (or any other required language) is usually necessary.
