Title: Marine Sales Engineer
Position Overview
The Marine Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting customer acquisition by providing customer-facing technical expertise to the sales team. The Sales Engineer evaluates customer applications, develops the technical strategy for commercial proposals, and is accountable for driving Sales Department processes related to technical implementation of Sea Machines autonomy products.
Responsibilities include hardware scoping, providing customer installation guidance, interface strategy development, technical coordination with suppliers, and development of customer-specific solutions. The Sales Engineer will support customer training execution with the creation of technical training materials and media.
The individual must possess a strong understanding of marine propulsion machinery, vessel systems, and marine perception sensors, with the ability to translate customer operational requirements into practical technical solutions.
The position requires the ability to develop solutions that improve the customer experience, reduce technical barriers to adoption, and build value for the Sea Machines product line. Marine industry experience in defense and/or commercial applications is required. The position is based in the Boston, Massachusetts area.

Primary Objectives
- Drive processes that support the Sales team and customers in technical autonomous vessel integration
- Assist in executing post sales action items across Sales to Engineering, Procurement, Field Support Depts.
- Manage communications with suppliers and partners required for system integrations and interfaces
- Work with internal product & engineering teams to validate product requirements.
- Support field demonstration efforts and organize sea trial events and customer exercises.
- Provide back up support to sales & marketing for promotional events
- Monitor the landscape for Federal business opportunities and requirements for programs
- Provide administrative support for CRM system
- US Citizen with 5 years experience working in Marine Technical Sales/Field Service with marine industry products.
- Expert knowledge of marine vessels, navigation equipment and vessel systems.
- Comfortable working with interfaces for marine propulsion, steering systems and perception sensors.
- Experience with marine industry software, USV offerings, or Captain’s Credentials are all favorable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marine Studies
- Eagerness to travel on average, 10-30%. Domestically and Internationally
- Effective communicator and creator with tier one writing and presentation skills
Skills Required
- US citizenship
- 5 years of experience in marine technical sales or field service with marine industry products
- Expert knowledge of marine vessels, navigation equipment, and vessel systems
- Experience with marine propulsion, steering system, and perception sensor interfaces
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Marine Studies
- Marine industry experience in defense and/or commercial applications
- Ability and willingness to travel 10–30% domestically and internationally
- Effective communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Experience with marine industry software, unmanned surface vessel offerings, or Captain’s Credentials
