Your Role at Orb:
Design a low-rate manufacturing line for American-made UAVs. Fixtures, tooling, processes, equipment from 0 to 250 units per quarter. 

Join us in returning to a 1940’s design cadence, reducing new aircraft development cycle time, and reindustrializing the Midwest as America's Low Altitude OEM. We’re leveraging our region’s industrial might and airspace to build aircraft that become decentralized infrastructure. Orb is a small mission-driven team where your initiative, creativity, and dedication will be used to reach every village on the planet with power, logistics, and communications. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • ·         Line and Process Design
  • ·         Tooling and Fixture Design
  • ·         Equipment Selection and Purchase
  • ·         Automated Testing Design
  • ·         Quality Assurance Processes
  • ·         Technician Hiring and Management
  • ·         Design for Manufacturing Consultation with the Product Team 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • ·         Experience in CAD (NX, Autodesk)
  • ·         Proven Experience in Process Engineering for Low-Rate Production
  • ·         Ability to Own and Design a Manufacturing Line
  • ·         Lean Six Sigma/GD&T Experience.
  • ·         Strong root cause analysis skills and experience.
  • ·         Mastery Of Quality/Manufacturing Tools (FMEA, SPC [Statistical Process Control]).
  • ·         Familiarity With Metrology Processes and Tools.
  • ·         NPI (New Product Integration) And Lifecycle Management Experience and Knowledge

Standard Benefits Package:  
Orb provides a monthly flat rate towards medical, dental, and vision 
$500 flat rate for individuals; $850 flat rate for married/family
