Position type: Exempt
The Design Process Engineer develops and optimizes manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and CNC programs for precision machined components. This role works closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Equipment Suppliers to improve manufacturability, quality, productivity, and cost while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for precision machined components.
- Design and develop machining fixtures including selection of appropriate materials based on strength, wear, and performance requirements.
- Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis machining platforms.
- Support 5-axis, turn-mill, and multi-tasking machine tools.
- Utilize G-Code, Fanuc Macro B, and Okuma User Task programming.
Qualifications:
- GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Precision machining processes including turning, milling, grinding, and EDM
- Fixture and workholding design
- CNC programming and process optimization
- Root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, process engineering, or precision machining.
