Summary
The Plant Controller oversees all plant‑level financial operations, including cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role partners closely with Plant Management to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost‑reduction opportunities, and enhance overall profitability.
The Plant Controller ensures the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial results and safeguards plant assets for a multi‑line manufacturing and warehousing facility with significant operational complexity. This role is a key member of the Plant Management team and provides timely, comprehensive financial leadership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Lead forecasting and budget planning
- Conduct capital expenditure analysis and reporting
- Perform accurate cost analysis and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize financial performance
- Partner with Plant Management to set annual standards and production yields
- Provide financial guidance and proactive communication on accounting issues
- Support capital expenditure requests and perform post‑project audits
- Maintain effective inventory and operating expense management
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance to ensure consistent financial practices
- Support internal and external audits
- Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly flash forecasts
- Identify risks and opportunities
- Lead development of the annual operating plan
- Recommend process improvements to enhance financial performance
- Analyze financial data to support decision‑making
Education & Experience
- B.S./B.A. in Accounting
- 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong manufacturing cost accounting and plant controlling experience
- Prior Senior Cost Accounting/Plant Cost Accounting experience preferred
- ERP system experience required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Strong knowledge of warehouse/manufacturing cost accounting and controls
- Prior in‑plant manufacturing industry experience required.

Physical Demands (Manufacturing Plant)
- Frequent listening, communication, and information assessment
- Occasional plant‑floor presence with exposure to machinery
- May require moving materials up to 50 lbs (adjust if not applicable)
- May require standing or remaining stationary for extended periods
- May require bending, reaching, kneeling, or similar movements
Work Environment
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Indoor manufacturing environment with potential heat exposure
- Loud noise, odors, and occasional airborne particles
- PPE required in plant areas (hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses)
