WHAT WE OFFER

This on-site position is a 6-month fixed term contract, averaging 40 hours per week with a competitive wage of $34.00 - 38.46 per hour for the term of this contract. Note: the posted salary ranges are estimates and actual salary may vary depending on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.  


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Manufacturing Planning Specialist 6 Month Contract position exists to oversee and optimize the planning and scheduling processes within the manufacturing operations at the Burnaby location. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that production activities are efficiently planned, coordinated, and executed to meet quality standards, delivery timelines, and cost targets. The Manufacturing Planning Specialist is responsible to develop and implement effective production plans, manage inventory levels, and coordinate with other departments to support overall business objectives. By leveraging their expertise in manufacturing planning, scheduling, and leadership, the incumbent drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and maximize operational efficiency.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, priorities, capacity, material availability, and cost targets.

  • Communicate production schedules, priorities, and status clearly to Manufacturing and cross-functional teams.

  • Prepare plant capacity forecasts and balance workload, labor, equipment, and materials to support on-time delivery and efficient operations.

  • Adjust production schedules when demand, priorities, capacity, material availability, or production conditions change.

  • Ensure procedures, work instructions, and standard processes are current, understood, and consistently followed.

  • Monitor production metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support problem-solving and root cause analysis, and develop these capabilities within the team.

  • Improve preparation and bundling methods, workflows, technology, and manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost.

  • Support new product introduction by providing input on manufacturability, quality, efficiency, capacity, and cost.

  • Develop and maintain accurate planning, capacity, and performance reports to support operational decision-making.

  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to improve customer delivery, plant efficiency, and overall business performance.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor or Diploma or Certificate with a technical discipline related to Manufacturing Industry.

  • Good shop floor planning & scheduling abilities.

  • Good Supply Management and/or Forecast / Capacity planning understanding. 

  • Good Product Introduction process and knowledge. 

  • Good working knowledge of garment related machinery & equipment, and its spec and requirements.

  • Good command of English language, verbal and written.

  • Good problem-solving skills. 

  • Good manufacturing management skills. 

  • Full literacy in personal computer.

  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese an asset.

  • ERP experience an asset. 

  • ISO and Industrial WorkSafe knowledge an asset

Skills Required
