The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist - Testing Digital and Data Acquisition, is responsible for the development, setup, maintenance, and applicability of the data acquisition system architecture in the testing areas of Florence, Massa and Avenza plants. The string test involve checking the operability, the performance, and the rotodynamic behaviour of Baker Hughes rotating equipment, such as electric motors and generators, gas turbines, gear boxes and centrifugal compressors.
In its mission He/She is also responsible to drive #Digitalization of test methodology with a strong focus on Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, and the implementation of the related technologies along with the development of data acquisition and analysis software, primarily using Python.
As Testing Digital and Data Acquisition Engineer you will be responsible of:
- Design and setting up the DAS (data acquisition systems): check the correct functionality of the automatic measurement systems, software interfaces, calculations modules and data storage according to the test specifications and related documentation, with a strong focus on data pipelines and internal developed solutions.
- Turbomachine live data acquisition activities during test execution: data registration, data quality and corrective actions in case of calculation errors, post processing and correction, advanced data analysis using Python, for live prediction of anomalies on the tested equipment leveraging machine learning models.
- Data post processing to get anomalies on the tested equipment not immediately visible using AI and advanced analytics techniques.
- Data post processing to generate documents and certificates for the Baker Hughes customers that requires the test, including automated reporting tools and data-driven insights.
- Development of the DAS (data acquisition system) with regards to calculation and analysis including software (Python preferred), selection and verification of hardware measurement systems, definition of the data acquisition practice applied during the test, and development of machine learning algorithms for anomaly detection and predictive analysis.
- Development and verification of digital systems in the testing area, including network and system segregations, management systems and servers, with integration of AI-driven solutions.
- Manage relationships and meetings with Engineering and Information Technology departments.
Fuel your passion to be successful in this role you will have:
