- Develop and optimize CNC programs for turning (lathes) and milling operations (3/4/5-axis as applicable)
- Lead and support new product launches (NPI) for fully automated CNC machining lines
- Work with robotics, vision systems, and in-process gauging to support automation
- Select and optimize cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for performance and tool life (turning-focused)
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and automation issues on the production floor
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and controls teams
- Drive continuous improvement in a high-volume automotive environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related)
- Expert-level CNC machining experience with strong emphasis on CNC turning (lathes) and solid CNC milling experience
- Proven experience in a high-volume, fast-paced automotive environment
- Hands-on experience with fully automated CNC machining lines (NPI/launch)
- Strong CNC programming skills (G-code / CAM)
- Experience integrating CNC machines with automated cells
- Deep knowledge of cutting tools and applications (especially for turning processes)
- Experience with vision systems and automated/in-process gauging
- Experience with multi-axis machining (live tooling, mill-turn, 4-axis and/or 5-axis)
- Experience with robotics and/or industrial controls (PLC, HMI, etc.)
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of gear cutting, hobbing, face broaching, or spline broaching
- Lean / Six Sigma experience
- Work on advanced, fully automated machining systems
