Summary:

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in driving innovation and excellence in automotive production. This role is responsible for continuously monitoring and analyzing the methods by which our products are manufactured, with a strong focus on improving quality and reducing costs. The Manufacturing Engineer will assist in planning, conducting, and directing chemical processing activities. In addition, this role will coordinate, train, and guide line technicians in daily processing operations, ensuring consistent execution of best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish standard operating procedures to control the variable conditions involved in producing salable urethane parts.
  • Knowledge of all machine capabilities and raw material characteristics.
  • Determine the most efficient combination of material, process and machine to produce salable urethane parts at least cost.
  • Recommends changes to the manufacturing processes methods and procedures to upgrade quality and quantity of products and/or line operating efficiencies.
  • Coordinates activities with Production, Production Control, Maintenance and Industrial Engineering to meet Company objectives of lowest cost, highest quality products.
  • Prepares necessary economic justification date for recommended equipment or process improvements and evaluates new equipment for possible use to improve quality, cost and line operating efficiencies.
  • Conducts and/or assists with the evaluation of new materials or processes evaluation of new materials or processes requested
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
  • Makes recommendations on materials and processes to improve profitability of manufacturing process.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Experience with line balancing and exposure to fast-paced manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.
  • Background in PLCs is a plus.
  • Lean manufacturing training or certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Toyota Production System (TPS) is a plus.
