Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing processes, supporting production operations, working with the engineering & maintenance department to deliver engineering solutions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. This position works closely with engineering, production, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to optimize equipment, processes, and manufacturing systems. This is a hands on role and requires an on-site presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to production and quality issues.
  • Support lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Work with the Engineering department to analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Support equipment selection, installation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Evaluate production data and generate recommendations to improve operational performance.
  • May participate in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification requirements:

Option 1

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline); and
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Option 2

  • Completion of a Mechatronics program, certificate, diploma, or associate degree; and
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.

Option 3

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in a technical engineering-related role within an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action tools.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of relay logic.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering or electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work primarily in the manufacturing plant environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stop, twist, turn, and climb stairs throughout the facility.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

 

 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline, plus at least 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience
  • Completion of a Mechatronics program, certificate, diploma, or associate degree, plus at least 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in a technical engineering-related role within an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
