POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and capital projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and overall operational performance.
This position requires a strong combination of manufacturing engineering expertise and project management capability. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead projects from initial problem definition and concept development through business justification, implementation, validation, and handoff to Operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in heat exchanger, pressure vessel, heavy fabrication, or similar engineered-to-order manufacturing environments. Direct heat exchanger manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Develop, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, capacity, and cost.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, labor hours, material handling, rework, and other forms of waste.
- Develop manufacturing concepts, process flows, workstation layouts, tooling, fixtures, and material handling solutions.
- Establish and maintain standard work, manufacturing routings, labor standards, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Perform capacity analysis, time studies, line balancing, and bottleneck analysis to support production requirements.
- Support manufacturing floor layout development and implementation of new or modified production areas.
- Provide technical support to Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other functions.
- Lead manufacturing engineering and capital projects from concept through implementation and operational hand off.
- Develop and manage project schedules and action-item trackers to ensure commitments are completed on time.
- Support new product introduction and design-for-manufacturability reviews.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
- Experience in heat exchanger, pressure vessel, heavy fabrication, or engineered-to-order manufacturing (Preferred).
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/layout software.
- Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing or capital projects from concept through implementation.
- Experience with manufacturing layouts, process flows, capacity analysis, and production optimization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with production employees, technical teams, suppliers, and senior leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or related industrial experience.
- PMP certification or formal project management training is a plus.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing or improving manufacturing processes in a production environment.
