Principal Objective of Position:
The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

- Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
- Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
- Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
- Responsible for the development of engineering masters/manufacturing instructions using manufacturing engineering practices.
- Prepare quotations for labor, tooling and equipment to support the business unit requirements.
- Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
- Evaluate and approve drawings, routings/MI’s, specs and other documents.
- Design and procure tools/equipment.
- Write appropriation requests.
- Evaluate and solve production problems.
- Train assemblers or conduct training to introduce new processes.
- Prepare/manufacture prototypes as required utilizing the principals of concurrent engineering.

Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Background in AM TPM and lean manufacturing.
- Excellent math skills.
- Good computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel, prefer experience with Dynamics AX.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate by written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently with little or no supervision.
- Use of good judgment and decision making skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must be able to manage time.
- Must have adaptability/flexibility.
- Accuracy with a strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing.
- Experience working with aluminum, and with bending, stamping, forming and punching metals.
