Knight Aerospace is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity supporting our aerospace manufacturing operations.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for generating build plans/routings, and bill of materials from Engineering data, to provide an executable plan to Production Control, Purchasing, Materials Control and Production. The Manufacturing Engineering will represent the Company and its values and will ensure that the expectations of the Company’s customers are exceeded
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create routing/job travelers for each manufacturing operation needed to produce the product.
- Create routing/job travelers in ERP system or Excel from drawings released by Engineering.
- Conduct in-depth review of engineering drawings prior to release
- BOM Creation:
- Verify BOM from engineering drawings
- Modify BOM as required when future revisions are released
- Forward completed BOM to Production Control for Stock checking
- Build plan identification:
- Identify the correct sequence for project build by working with Production
- On floor issues, changes, questions:
- Address issues brought up by Production for engineering change requests or BOM modification
- Drawing review:
- Review drawings for possible errors or missing information
- Tooling & Fixturing:
- Identify opportunities for tooling and fixturing to improve efficiency or reduce nonconformances in the manufacturing processes
- Continual Improvement:
- Identification and implementation of process improvement activities, 5S, kaizen, lean 6s etc.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Preferred: 2+ years of college.
- Desired: Manufacturing Engineering degree, 4-year accredited university
- Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience, hands on manufacturing or in a role creating routings and BOMs, and drawing reviews for manufacturability
- Minimum 1 year aerospace manufacturing experience, hands on manufacturing or in a role creating routings and BOMs.
- Preferred: Experience programming G-code for CNC machining (Haas 4-axis)
- Preferred: knowledge of JobBoss Software (or similar ERP system), knowledge of CAD.
- Preferred: Experience leading improvement events and activities, 5S, kaizen, lean 6s etc.
Work Environment Requirements

- Comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing and warehouse environment.

- May be exposed to dust, noise, and other conditions typical of a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- May be required to move between office, production, and warehouse areas as necessary to perform job responsibilities.

Skills Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience, including hands-on manufacturing or creating routings, BOMs, and manufacturability reviews
- Minimum 1 year of aerospace manufacturing experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Knowledge and use of GD&T

- Two or more years of college
- Manufacturing Engineering degree from a four-year accredited university

- Experience leading improvement events and activities, including 5S, kaizen, or lean 6S
