  • Engage in after-hours maintenance windows to adjust various systems as required.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for network-based support.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of remote Network Access Control and provide technical expertise for operational enhancements in GM network automation and security.
  • Deliver on-site support and training as needed.
  • Set up and coordinate proactive network health checks with site and project leads during launches.

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Network and Computer Communications Standards.
  • Willingness to travel globally and locally to support other GM sites as needed, with an estimated travel requirement of 10-20% of the time.
  • Knowledge in both IT networks/cybersecurity and Operational Technology (OT), including troubleshooting network-related issues with PLCs, robots, and/or other industrial devices.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Electronics, or Cybersecurity.
  • Experience with Automation Controls, Manufacturing Engineering process studies, or Industrial Engineering, with knowledge of plant floor systems as an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience in PLC controls programming and development, including project coordination and site implementation.
  • Network certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent experience in network troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently after training, with a strong eagerness to learn in a multi-disciplinary and dynamic environment.
