As a Manufacturing Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll serve as the plant's primary cybersecurity execution partner. You'll implement and sustain the Manufacturing Cybersecurity Program, coordinate remediation activities, support incident response and disaster recovery, and partner with plant, IT, cybersecurity, supplier, and global teams to reduce risk without disrupting production.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring independent judgment, strong execution, and the ability to manage competing priorities with limited supervision. Your work will help maintain secure, resilient, and production-ready manufacturing operations.
What You'll Do
  • Implement and sustain the Manufacturing Cybersecurity Program at the assigned plant.
  • Identify, communicate, prioritize, and remediate endpoint security issues and vulnerabilities.
  • Support cybersecurity incident response, investigations, recovery activities, and follow-up actions.
  • Conduct cybersecurity readiness assessments for new initiatives, pilots, launches, and post-launch operations.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity work plans, site-readiness activities, resources, schedules, dependencies, and open issues.
  • Partner with plant operations, IT, cybersecurity, suppliers, and global teams to implement effective cybersecurity controls.
  • Apply appropriate patching and firmware-update practices for production-critical equipment and OT assets.
  • Communicate cybersecurity status, risks, potential downtime impacts, remediation plans, and recovery activities to plant leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Help identify and resolve cybersecurity issues while minimizing disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Document cybersecurity assessments, remediation actions, incident follow-up, recovery activities, and operating procedures.
  • Track open issues through resolution and escalate risks, dependencies, and potential production impacts in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement of plant cybersecurity processes, controls, and operational readiness.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1+ years of experience in cybersecurity, automotive or manufacturing operations, industrial control environments, plant technology support, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including endpoint security, vulnerability management, incident response, and recovery.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, prioritizing, and remediating cybersecurity issues and vulnerabilities.
  • Working knowledge of patching production-critical equipment and updating firmware on OT assets.
  • Ability to execute projects, manage competing priorities, and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with plant operations, IT, cybersecurity, suppliers, and global stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain cybersecurity risks, remediation plans, and potential operational impacts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to assess cybersecurity readiness for initiatives, pilots, launches, and post-launch operations.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment when balancing cybersecurity requirements with production continuity and operational priorities.

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications )
  • Experience with manufacturing automation equipment, industrial control systems, or plant-floor technologies.
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and supporting cybersecurity tools in manufacturing or OT environments.
  • Experience with plant-floor disaster recovery processes, recovery testing, or operational resilience planning.
  • Experience supporting automotive manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, industrial networks, or comparable OT systems.
  • Experience coordinating cybersecurity controls and remediation activities across multiple plant or enterprise stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, vulnerability-management practices, and OT security standards.
