We are looking to fill two Manual Machinist positions, one on 1st shift and one on 3rd shift. We are excited to announce that all 3rd shift employees will receive a $3.00/hr. shift differential! Below are the preferred skills, duties, and responsibilities you will perform as our Manual Machinist.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This operator has setup experience and spends most of their time operating conventional machines and assembly operations. This is considered a production type position where the operator is expected to gain experience and develop into a level 1 CNC Operator. This position also performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor of the position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Availability to work (7am-3:15pm) 1st shift, and (11pm-7:15am) 3rd shift.
- Training occurs on 1st shift for up to 90 days if you are on an off shift.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent visual perception to ensure fine detail quality inspection.
- Full physical capability to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, bend and maneuver around equipment and job stations. This position is primarily standing at a machine most of the day. Must be able to lift and position components that weigh up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to physically tolerate contact (hands) with coolants and cutting oils.
- Ability to follow work instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings.
- Ability to perform precision measurement of machined components.
- Must have a working knowledge of cutting tools and hand tools.
- Ability to operate industrial conventional machining equipment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
- Following company procedures and policies.
- Meeting time standards established for all assigned production.
- Alerting any supervisor to any unsafe condition.
- Adequate control, protection, and use of the assets of the company.
- Communicate with the supervisor, set up operators, and quality department to ensure common understanding of immediate issues affecting output and quality.
- Produce parts as instructed by supervisor, lead, or through work instructions.
- Provide justification and corrective action on all issues pertaining to poor quality.
- Any other duties requested by the supervisor.
