Manual Lathe Machinist
Manual Machinist- A Manual Machinist is a skilled professional responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual machine tools to produce precision parts and components. This role requires expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, selecting appropriate materials, and using various machining techniques to achieve the desired specifications.
Machinist Job Responsibilities
- Operate manual machines to cut, shape, and finish parts to specified dimensions.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain precision and quality.
- Perform turning, facing, drilling, and other machining operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or engineering drawings.
- Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Plans a proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Select and install appropriate tooling and work holding devices for each job, ensuring they are securely and accurately positioned.
- Monitors production adjusts feeds& speeds and other settings as necessary.
- Checks output for quality assurance
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive team attitude.
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
- Compliance with all safety rules and guidelines.
- Consistently adhere to assigned work schedule, ensuring punctuality and reliability.
Machinist Qualifications/Skills:
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
- Four jaw chuck experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
- Proficient in math
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
