The Solutions Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, enhancement, and implementation of organizational information systems and software within their assigned domain. This role provides hands-on technical and functional leadership across one or more critical systems, ensuring they operate reliably and evolve to meet business needs.

The Solutions Lead plays a key role in guiding solution design, supporting delivery execution, and driving continuous improvement, while partnering closely with Solution Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and business stakeholders. This position requires deep expertise in Manhattan Associates WMi (versions 2004 and/or 2014 on IBM iSeries) and active involvement in both strategic initiatives and day-to-day system support.

This role is instrumental in extending an existing Manhattan WMS environment into a new and existing locations operating legacy systems.

The Solutions Lead is expected to consistently deliver high-quality solutions, uphold Company Core Values, and support internal controls and financial compliance within their domain.

This is an onsite position located at our headquarters (Base Camp) in Springfield, Missouri.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Solution & Technical Leadership
  • Serves as the primary technical/functional lead across assigned initiatives, contributing to Planning, Design, and Execution phases.
  • Drives solution design decisions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, architectural standards, and long-term system strategy.
  • Partners with Solution Delivery Managers and Project Managers to support successful delivery of projects, ensuring quality outcomes aligned with scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define Plan-Build-Run activities, clarify responsibilities, and support execution.
  • Ensures all Production Install Requests (PIRs) meet quality standards and are ready for successful deployment.
  • Proactively identifies risks, issues, and optimization opportunities, and drives resolution.
Manhattan WMS Expertise
  • Provides hands-on configuration, development support, troubleshooting, and system optimization for Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management Systems, including Manhattan WMi (2004 and/or 2014) on the IBM iSeries platform and Manhattan Active WMS.
  • Leads key technical aspects of extending and supporting warehouse management solutions across new and existing facilities, including integrations, data flows, operational readiness, and deployment activities.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for Manhattan WMi and Manhattan Active WMS functionality, architecture, configuration, and best practices.
  • Supports system upgrades, enhancements, performance tuning initiatives, and platform modernization efforts.
  • Collaborates with business and technical teams to support integration of Manhattan WMS platforms with ERP, transportation, automation, material handling, ecommerce, and other enterprise systems.
  • Provides technical leadership for cloud-based warehouse management capabilities and the transition from legacy Manhattan platforms to Manhattan Active WMS where applicable.
Team Guidance & Collaboration
  • Provides day-to-day technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members and peers.
  • Contributes to onboarding, knowledge sharing, and skill development across the team.
  • Helps identify skill gaps and supports training and cross-skilling initiatives to improve team capability and resiliency.
  • Collaborates with leadership on resource planning and allocation to support project and operational needs.
  • Acts as a point of escalation for technical challenges and complex problem-solving.
Business Partnership & Communication
  • Partners with stakeholders to refine requirements, validate solutions, and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Supports project planning discussions by providing input on technical feasibility, effort estimation, and dependencies.
  • Communicates solution designs, risks, and progress to stakeholders and leadership in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Builds strong relationships with operations, business users, and IT teams to ensure successful adoption and ongoing system effectiveness.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required:    Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in IT solution delivery, systems support, or application development.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, developing, and supporting Manhattan Associates WMi (2004 and/or 2014) on IBM iSeries (AS/400).
  • Hands-on experience configuring, implementing, supporting, or enhancing Manhattan Active WMS in a distribution, warehouse, or supply chain environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400) environment.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMS integrations, including interfaces with ERP, transportation, automation/MHE, ecommerce, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with SQL and database-driven system configuration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and influence outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting organizations operating a mix of legacy Manhattan WMi (2004/2014) and Manhattan Active WMS platforms.
  • Experience with Manhattan Active WMS implementation, migration, upgrades, and cloud-based architecture.
  • Experience supporting warehouse automation and material handling integrations within Manhattan environments.
  • Familiarity with supply chain modernization initiatives and warehouse transformation programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Hands-on experience configuring, developing, and supporting Manhattan Associates WMi on IBM iSeries.
  • Strong working knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400) environment.
  • Experience with SQL and database-driven system configuration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and influence outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 25% as needed for project support. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
