We are seeking an experienced Managing Paralegal to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Criminal Defense and Family Law paralegal teams.

Position Overview
The Managing Paralegal will oversee the Criminal Defense and Family Law paralegal teams, ensuring efficient case management, consistent work quality, and exceptional support for attorneys and clients. This position combines hands-on paralegal responsibilities with team leadership, workflow management, training, and performance oversight.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in both criminal defense and family law, along with demonstrated success leading or supervising legal support teams.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Criminal Defense and Family Law paralegals and legal support staff.
  • Assign and monitor workloads to ensure timely completion of tasks and balanced team utilization.
  • Establish and maintain department workflows, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Partner with attorneys to ensure cases progress efficiently and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of paralegal staff.
  • Draft, review, and oversee pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and trial materials.
  • Manage complex case files from intake through resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, filing requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, client service, and operational processes.
  • Serve as a resource for attorneys and staff on procedural and case management issues.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with substantial experience in both Criminal Defense and Family Law.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or managing paralegals or legal support staff.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal and family law litigation procedures.
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $50.00 per hour ($104,000 annually)
  • Full-time, in-office position
  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
