You provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for payer consulting portfolios that bridge technology, regulatory requirements, and core health plan operations. You are accountable for defining payer-focused service offerings, delivery standards, and performance outcomes that improve operational efficiency, compliance, member experience, and financial performance while supporting sustainable business growth. In partnership with client executives and internal delivery leaders, you guide engagements from strategy through execution, overseeing current-state operational assessments, future-state operating model and workflow design, and large-scale technology transformations. These initiatives leverage payer platforms such as core administration and claims processing systems, enrollment and eligibility platforms, care and utilization management tools, provider network systems, and analytics and reporting solutions. Through strong governance, hands-on leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration, you ensure high-quality delivery at scale, manage delivery and regulatory risk, develop consulting talent, and build trusted, long-term client partnerships with health plan leaders.

Core Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Strategic Engagement

  • Provide executive oversight and strategic leadership across complex healthcare consulting portfolios, ensuring delivery aligns with client goals, contractual commitments, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as Engagement Executive or Strategic Advisor to client leadership, translating enterprise challenges into actionable, outcome-driven plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions that improve operations, drive transformation, and support long-term client success.
  • Resolve cross-cutting issues, ensure alignment across stakeholders, and maintain visibility into portfolio performance, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Guide organizational change efforts to support technology adoption and operational sustainability.

Solution Oversight & Transformation Leadership

  • Oversee assessment, design, and implementation of scalable solutions.
  • Ensure delivery of scalable, measurable solutions through strategic work planning, quality assurance, and measuring results.
  • Champion innovation and process improvement by introducing best practices, methodologies, and emerging technologies that support healthcare transformation.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Identify systemic risks across the consulting portfolio and lead resolution efforts in partnership with client and internal leadership.
  • Serve as the executive escalation point for critical delivery issues, ensuring swift resolution and sustaining client relationships.
  • Maintain oversight of compliance with healthcare regulations, cybersecurity standards, and organizational governance requirements.

Client Enablement & Executive Coaching

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with client executives, guiding long-term strategy and fostering client ownership of delivered solutions.
  • Establish frameworks for knowledge transfer, capability building, and system adoption success post-engagement.

Organizational Alignment & Service Evolution

  • Align consulting delivery with Tegria’s strategic objectives and service line goals; contribute to operational strategy, capability development, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Provide market intelligence and client feedback to inform service innovation, strategic investments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Internal Leadership

  • Perform formal people-management duties. Administer and document personnel actions including performance evaluations, coaching, discipline, pay changes, and promotions in accordance with Tegria policies and procedures.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams; oversee performance, engagement, and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability and respect.
  • Serve as an executive mentor to rising leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Manage the P&L of projects, including scoping, pricing, statements of work, costs, payment and risk terms, budget, tracking, forecasting, and management.
  • Oversee the strategic direction of your service line or practice line
  • Oversee utilization and allocation of budgets and resources.
  • Assist executives and senior managing directors in defining organizational goals and strategic plans.
  • Develop guidelines, processes, and procedures to accomplish objectives and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements

Business Development

  • Manage the P&L of projects, including scoping, pricing, statements of work, costs, payment and risk terms, budget, tracking, forecasting, and management.
  • Lead strategic pursuits, proposals, and account expansions.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and solution leaders to position offerings, shape go-to-market strategies, and secure new business.
  • Represent Tegria at industry events, client executive forums, and thought leadership opportunities

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Certifications

  • Actively pursuing or maintaining relevant certifications

Experience

  • Has extensive related experience in healthcare consulting or technology leadership experience, including:
    • Engagement-executive oversight of multi-million dollar engagements or programs.
    • Strategic leadership across multiple client portfolios and service lines.
    • Client relationship management and negotiation.
    • People management, including coaching, performance evaluation, and staffing.
    • Budget ownership and P&L accountability.
    • Strategic planning and solution design.
    • Business development and proposal development.
    • Mentorship and professional development of consulting staff.

Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of
    • the organization and functional area(s).
    • healthcare operations, systems, or digital transformation.
    • business operations and strategy, particularly within the healthcare sector, understanding market trends and client needs.

  • Broad knowledge of the healthcare IT consulting industry.
