Job Description Summary:

This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on business development, high-quality pipeline generation, and market expansion. The Managing Director will originate, qualify, cultivate, and support conversion of new business opportunities across family offices, private clients, foundations, pensions, and other institutional investors.
This individual will engage directly with senior decision makers, centers of influence, and strategic referral sources, helping shape regional business development strategy and translating market intelligence into actionable growth plans. The role requires strong commercial acumen, relationship building skills, credibility with sophisticated investors, and the ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the business development strategy for Geneva and French speaking Switzerland, with scope to support broader Swiss and selected EMEA growth initiatives.
  • Represent Cambridge Associates as a senior market facing leader across the region through direct outreach, meetings, conferences, and targeted relationship building activity such as local events.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities across family offices, private clients, pensions, foundations, endowments, and other institutional segments.
  • Develop a targeted relationship development plan for key prospect segments and referral channels.
  • Establish and deepen relationships with key centers of influence, including consultants, private banks, lawyers, fiduciaries, trustees, and other market participants.
  • Build and manage a high quality pipeline of prospects, with disciplined tracking of opportunity stage, activity, timing, and revenue potential.
  • Engage directly with prospects to understand their objectives, governance structures, and investment needs, and position Cambridge Associates’ solutions effectively.
  • Collaborate with practice wide business development programs to leverage firm wide networks, including existing clients, investment managers, and strategic partners.
  • Partner with investment, client solutions, and marketing teams to shape messaging, investment strategy development specific to regional needs.
  • Use investment and portfolio knowledge to engage credibly with sophisticated prospects and stakeholders on complex topics.
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline and provide regular commercial updates and market insight to senior leadership.
  • Help strengthen Cambridge Associates’ long term business development capabilities and market presence in Switzerland.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional qualification such as an MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in business development, investment consulting, wealth management, investment management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of originating and converting new business opportunities and building a measurable sales pipeline.
  • Strong knowledge of the Swiss market, especially Geneva and French speaking Switzerland, with established relationships across relevant client and referral networks.
  • Experience working with family offices, private clients, foundations, pensions, and institutional investors is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with strong commercial judgment and the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Fluency in English and French is required; additional regional language capabilities are a plus.
Location and Travel

This role is based in Geneva. Willingness to travel within the region and more broadly as needed is required.

Over time, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to contribute to the executive committee and or management board of Cambridge Associates’ Swiss firm.
