Primary Duties
1. Leads and develops a team responsible for daily purchasing activities, including PO creation, expediting, vendor communication, and pricing accuracy. Monitors order queues, material availability, and delivery performance to maintain operational continuity. Determines staffing requirements and team training & development.
2. Oversees inventory accuracy processes including cycle counts, reconciliation, adjustments, and root-cause investigations. Partners with the field to drive timely receipts, returns, and resolution of discrepancies. Monitors safety stock, reorders levels, and demands signals to support optimal stocking strategies.
3. Coordinates with Category Management to align tactical buying with strategic supplier agreements. Partners with Category Management to execute strategies at a tactical level including expediting, audits, KPI tracking, etc.
4. Maintains adherence to SOX controls related to procurement, approvals, receiving, and inventory management. Collaborates with accounting to confirm documentation, workflows, and system transactions meet audit requirements.
5. Leverages ERP & reporting tools to monitor KPIs, inventory accuracy, and compliance metrics. Drives continuous improvement efforts through process standardization & software utilization.
6. Establishes clear goals and monitors progress accordingly for the division Supply Chain Specialists to assure continuity across divisions and progress on corporate initiatives & requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, inventory management, and leading people.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal clients as well as supplier representatives. Requires the ability to prepare and give effective professional presentations at all levels of the organization. Requires the ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at all levels on matters of a technical and/or complex nature.
Numeric Skills:
Must be proficient in commonly used reporting and statistical analysis methods/tools. Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
Computer Skills:
Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications for creating spreadsheets, documents, reports, financial analysis and graphics. Requires knowledge of integrated purchasing and inventory control database applications such as Oracle, SAP, etc.
Physical Demands:
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment. May require occasional overnight travel.
