Responsibilities:

  • Leading strategic assessment, commercial and technical analysis, and market research to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities across the energy transition value chain, developing well-supported recommendations for business leaders
  • Identifying, assessing and prioritising new strategic opportunities and Group initiatives by evaluating market attractiveness, strategic fit, commercial viability, technical feasibility and key risks
  • Building concise, data-driven strategic insights and business cases, including market sizing, competitive analysis, financial modelling, scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making
  • Providing strategic advisory support to business units on targeted strategic questions and initiatives, including structuring analyses, synthesising findings and recommending actions to enable successful implementation
  • Preparing high-quality executive presentations, reports and briefing materials for senior management, strategy forums and governance committees, translating complex analyses into clear and actionable insights
  • Developing market intelligence and thought leadership materials, proactively preparing and circulating commercial, technology and industry insights to support strategic decision-making and execution across the Group
  • Working closely with business unit and functional leaders to translate Group Strategy and strategic opportunities into practical implementation plans, monitor progress and address execution challenges
  • Maintaining strong external perspectives by engaging with industry participants, technology providers, start-ups, research institutions and other strategic partners to identify emerging trends, innovation opportunities and market developments

Requirements:

  • 10 or more years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development or a similar analytical role; experience in energy, utilities or infrastructure is an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, finance or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications (e.g. MBA, relevant master’s degree) are preferred
  • Strong strategic problem‑solving skills and comfort with hypothesis‑driven work, market and financial analysis, and scenario development
  • Strong analytical skills and research capability are required
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Chinese is desirable), with the ability to synthesise complex analysis into clear storylines and materials for senior executives
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work independently within a small team, and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations, able to structure unstructured problems and adapt as new information emerges
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and genuine curiosity about strategy, business and the energy transition, with a strong drive to learn and improve

Skills Required
