Overview:
The Site Logistics Manager, located in St. James, Louisiana, is tasked with the improvement of site logistics performance with respect to regulatory compliance, EH&S, work processes, business/customer service, operating costs, and maintenance costs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Regulatory, Compliance, and Environmental Health & Safety:
- -In alignment with the Logistics Safety and Compliance Specialist, ensures appropriate processes, training, and documentation are in place and being executed for compliance with all relevant governmental regulations (DOT, FRA, customs, etc.)
- -In alignment with Rail Logistics, support business rail maintenance strategy
- -Site focal point for Non-Accidental Release (NAR) performance
- Site Logistics Business Service Requirements
- -Work with Styrene Business and Supply Chain to ensure that site logistics operational requirements are aligned with business strategy
- -Act as liaison between the Styrene Business and Supply Chain for capital project and improvement initiatives related to site logistics capabilities
- -Lead initiatives to improve and meet customer service requirements when performance is below expectations
- Site Logistics Operations Performance
- -Ensure implementation of work process and best practices
- -Serve as Root Cause Investigation focal point for Root Cause Investigations and Quality Notifications (QN) involving site logistics
- -Identify, analyze, and measure improvements to key processes and procedures through team activity and individual initiatives
- -Track key performance metrics, site logistics performance data, and generate improvement opportunities
- Cost Management
- -Manage site logistics aligned budget to plan and participate in the yearly budget setting process
- -Proactively lead logistics initiatives and projects. Implement new, identified opportunities to deliver the lowest cost to serve while maintaining service-level objectives
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an Accredited University or equivalent degree.
- 7+ years of experience in chemical plant and/or refinery operations required. Site logistics or supply chain experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communications skills.
- Excellent ability to convey knowledge (teaching, coaching, communicating, documenting).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated people management experience preferred
- High level of initiative
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
