Role Overview:
At McAfee, we’re on a mission to protect our customers from the ever changing threat landscape on the web. We are looking for a Manager of Software Engineering to lead a web engineering team, focused on delivering a world class product that makes out customers' lives safer. You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and loves solving complex problems at internet scale to delight our customers.
This is a Hybrid position located in either Waterloo or Toronto, Canada. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 1 to 6 times a month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to one of the two locations and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
About the role:

Lead a team of SDEs and SDETs focused on delivering a best in class web application for our customers to manage their subscription and account.

Be hands on to provide technical / design guidance & support, be active in code reviews to hold a high bar for code quality.

As scrum master, collaborate with TPMs on project management and execution, holding the team accountable to project milestones.

As coach and mentor for the team, guide each member with their career and job skill development, to ensure team is well equipped to deliver impactful business outcome.

Effective communicator and excellent at collaborating with stakeholders, driving consensus and solving problems with urgency and efficacy.
About You:

You have 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, with experience managing SDEs and SDETs.

You have 7+ years of experience in application development in ReactJS, Redux, HTML/CSS.

You have a strong knowledge of distributed systems, performance at internet scale and mastery at UI concepts.

You have strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts.

You have experience with the software development process, optimization techniques, and testing methodologies.
