As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Global Banking Tech Group, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
  • Participate in design and develop scalable and resilient systems in a timely manner using Document Automation tool - Use HotDocs to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
  • Design, write, comment and unit test code to confirm software modules are of the highest quality
  • Collaborate with teams in multiple regions and time zones
  • Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team
  • Maintain technical acumen by pursuing formal and informal learning opportunities about technology, JPMorgan Chase products and financial services
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve delivery flow across product and technology

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
  • Minimum of 8+ years of Application work experience throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience with HotDocs Document Automation vendor software or similar template based program development tools
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts including Scrum, JIRA Issue Tracking and Sprint Retrospectives
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and its various uses
  • Familiarity with Tortoise-Git, JIRA, BitBucket as change management tools
  • Use of Notepad ++ to read, understand and modify XML files

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Strong testing and debugging skills, strong focus on project delivery
  • Experience in creating and managing development work plans, knowledge of version control practices and procedures
  • Passion and ability to learn new technology and software tools
  • Ability to function in small team environment without daily direction needed
  • Being a Team Player: sharing information on tasks and challenges with the team daily and taking advantage of learning and teaching opportunities.
