Job Summary
The Manager of SEC and Financial Reporting is responsible for the administration and production of SEC filings, including the Form 10-Q, the Annual Report on the Form 10-K, and press releases and related Form 8-Ks. You will oversee the management of SEC Reporting and will be an integral part of the Technical Accounting and Equity Accounting functions. This role partners closely with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A and Legal to strengthen controls, streamline the close and serve as a subject matter expert for external reporting and disclosure requirements. This role is a critical partner in the external audit process.Job Details
Leadership and Functional Responsibilities:
· Lead preparation, review and filing of all external financial reports (e.g., Annual Report/Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and Quarterly Earnings Release).
· Review quarterly and annual disclosures, working directly with the business partners to understand and corroborate disclosure information while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC rules.
· Strong interpersonal skills as the candidate will have to interact with leaders across our business.
· Responsible for the execution of internal controls over financial reporting and remediates identified deficiencies in a timely fashion.
· Strategizes and executes changes in response to IT upgrades and enhancements, new business initiatives, acquisitions, and new accounting standards.
· Supports the CAO for the development and presentation of Disclosure Committee, Audit Committee and Board materials.
· Provide analysis of technical accounting matters (revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, impairment, etc.) including preparation of technical accounting memos and other support.
· Maintain and improve SOX/internal controls documentation and remediation plans for reporting-related controls.
· Responsible for accounting for Equity Compensation in Accordance with ASC 718.
· Support preparation of monthly internal management and external reporting packages
· Serve as key contact for external audits by working with external auditors
· Research and advise on US GAAP Accounting Standards and how to apply to the Company.
· Partner with Human resources on equity grants and their valuation and tracking
· Mentor and develop junior staff in the financial reporting team which currently is comprised of two senior accountants.
Education and Skill Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
● 5+ years of related work experience at least 3 years which should be public accounting.
● Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal and external parties of the Company.
● Knowledge of relevant technical accounting and reporting disciplines and the ability to understand and document complex accounting issues
● Knowledge of applicable Microsoft Applications (Excel)
● CPA or progress made towards completing the CPA
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Physical Requirements
This is a full-time position and requires the candidate to be in the office at least four days per week.
● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment.
● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
● Light to moderate lifting is required.
● Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
● Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
● Ability to work in a confined area.
● Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
