What we do:
The Manager, Safety, Reliability, and Maintainability Engineering is responsible for Aircraft and Systems Safety, Reliability, and Maintainability (SRM), including Safety Analysis, Reliability Predictions, and Design for Maintainability. This role manages a team of SRM Engineers and is responsible for interdisciplinary coordination of eVTOL aircraft design, development, and build. The SRM Manager works closely with other engineering and program managers to ensure safety is an integral part of the development and that all required deliverables are planned and executed according to the program schedule.
What you can do:
- Provide strong technical and managerial leadership to the Safety, Reliability and Maintainability group
- Responsible for Safety, Reliability and Maintainability (SRM) plans and process definition
- Responsible for execution of aircraft-level SRM activities, including requirements definition, validation and verification, PRAs (Particular Risk Analysis) and ZSA (Zonal Safety Analysis)
- Drive and support all engineering teams in the execution of Safety activities
- Develop and communicate team objectives and priorities
- Handle cost, schedule, and technical performance of the team
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
- Perform performance reviews and manage staffing requirements
- Partner with PMO organization to execute build plan
- Up to 10% of domestic and international travel
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering or other related field required; Master’s preferred
- Minimum twelve (12) years of experience in aircraft/systems safety, and certification (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in leading technical teams
- Experience aerospace projects from the conceptual phase through the design and build phases
- Experience with FAA or EASA certification projects
- Experience working with other regulatory agencies
- Proficiency in all Safety Engineering domains, to include Functional Hazard Assessments (AFHA or SFHA), Preliminary Safety Assessments (PASA or PSSA), Safety Assessments (ASA or SSA), DAL Assignment (FDAL and IDAL)
- Knowledge of Safety Analysis Methods, including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA or FMES), Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA), Particular Risk Analysis (PRA) and Common Mode Analysis (CMA)
- Experience with ARP4754 and ARP4761
- Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-217F
- Knowledge of DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254
- Experience with defining Means and/or Methods of Compliance for a Civil Aviation program
- Highly collaborative and great communicator
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
You may also be able to contribute:
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1629A preferred
- Knowledge of AC 121-22C preferred
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Agile / Lean methodologies preferred
Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
The pay range for this position is:
$149,750—$205,371 USD
