Job Title:Manager, Reporting and Analytics

Department:Health Sciences | Government Resource Center

The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for a Manager 2, Reporting and Analytics position in the Data Science and Engineering section. This role includes technical, supervisory, and organizational leadership responsibilities. Key responsibilities include directly supervising two or more research staff; providing technical and subject matter expertise on projects; supporting project development, including grant and proposal writing; and performing other duties described in the Responsibilities section below. This position requires strong programming skills, expertise in health quality measure development and production, and advanced data analytics experience.

Typical responsibilities are project-specific and may include: (1) leading complex research tasks or projects as a PI or co-PI, or task lead; (2) independently determining methods for new projects; (3) developing practices, processes, metrics, or models that may establish organizational precedent; (4) applying advanced subject matter and methodological knowledge to manage a wide range of projects; (5) providing guidance to research project staff and project sponsors; (6) communicating complex or sensitive information and facilitating productive dialogue among stakeholders; (7) mentoring colleagues in their roles as managers, PIs, and subject matter experts; (8) identifying and securing funding for new research projects; and (9) supporting project development and administration by working with funders and stakeholders to understand needs, completing necessary contracting, and establishing project governance structures.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of five years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or three years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a related field.

Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Additional Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated increasing responsibility in at least two of the following areas: health quality measure design and implementation, data linkage, design and maintenance of large relational databases, and statistical analysis of administrative data. Relevant domain experience may include population health, substance use disorder, maternal and infant health, Medicaid claims analysis, electronic health records, or healthcare quality improvement methods. Experience leading teams that perform advanced analytics using SAS, R, and/or SQ. Substantial experience working with external clients and other stakeholders. Experience designing and producing health quality measures; proficiency with Git; experience working with health system clients, such as health-related state agencies (e.g., the Ohio Department of Medicaid or the Ohio Department of Health) or hospitals; and experience in applied health services or population health research.
