About the Role:
We’re looking for a Manager, Regulatory Compliance and Testing to join our Legal, Compliance & Internal Audit team supporting Wallet, our financial services platform designed to provide payments and financial solutions for our real estate agents.
In this role, you’ll build, implement, and own the day-to-day execution of Real Wallet’s Strategic Compliance Monitoring & Testing Framework. You’ll translate regulatory requirements into risk assessments, testing methodologies, monitoring processes, and actionable remediation plans, taking an independent, hands-on approach to establishing and scaling the program. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify emerging compliance risks, develop and execute testing, review marketing materials and disclosures, and provide day-to-day compliance guidance.
The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with business teams to identify risks and develop practical solutions.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in building and scaling compliance processes within an evolving fintech environment while partnering across the business on new products, regulatory requirements, and operational initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
Build, implement, and continuously improve Real Wallet’s Strategic Compliance Monitoring & Testing Framework across active business lines and financial products.
Identify and map applicable regulatory requirements to business activities, products, and controls; conduct risk assessments to identify compliance gaps; and develop a risk-based monitoring and testing roadmap that prioritizes areas of greatest exposure.
Partner with business teams to identify emerging compliance risks, determine testing needs, and provide practical guidance on day-to-day operations and new initiatives.
Independently design, develop, and execute risk-based compliance testing, including defining testing objectives, methodologies, sampling approaches, evidence requirements, and evaluation criteria for new and existing products, processes, and regulatory requirements.
Leverage AI and other intelligent tools to develop and enhance compliance testing frameworks, methodologies, and workflows, improving the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of compliance monitoring and testing.
Audit automated disclosure logic and credit decision notices for compliance with applicable state and federal commercial lending requirements, including rate and fee limitations.
Review marketing materials and customer complaint trends to identify and mitigate potential UDAAP/UDAP and other regulatory risks.
Develop system frameworks and reporting workflows to support compliance with emerging regulatory requirements.
Execute compliance monitoring and testing, document findings, assess control effectiveness, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and track remediation through resolution. Communicate results and emerging risks to Compliance leadership and relevant business partners.
Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into actionable compliance processes, controls, and testing requirements.
What You’ll Bring:
Strong knowledge of U.S. small business lending and state-licensed lending requirements.
Knowledge of key regulatory requirements, including ECOA (Regulation B), UDAAP/UDAP, KYC, AML, OFAC, SCRA, CAN-SPAM, and state-specific disclosure requirements.
Demonstrated experience independently building, implementing, and executing risk-based compliance monitoring and testing programs, including regulatory mapping, risk assessments, testing methodology development, execution, reporting, and remediation tracking.
Experience in leveraging AI and other intelligent tools to develop, enhance, or streamline compliance testing frameworks, methodologies, or workflows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across legal, compliance, business, and operational teams.
Proven ability to take ownership of complex assignments with limited day-to-day direction, build practical solutions, and determine when internal collaboration or specialized expertise is needed.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving business and regulatory requirements.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Compliance, or a related field required.
6+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, compliance testing, or audit within the fintech, lending, banking, or financial services industry.
Experience independently building and executing compliance monitoring and testing programs within a lending, fintech, banking, or other regulated financial services environment is required.
Direct experience with U.S. small business lending and state-licensed lending is strongly preferred, particularly experience translating applicable federal and state requirements into compliance controls and testing procedures.
Experience with Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), embedded banking, or working with bank sponsors is a plus.
Familiarity with Canadian regulations, including CASL, FINTRAC, or PPSA, is a plus.
Experience with AI-assisted underwriting is a plus.
CRCM or CAMS certification is a plus.
