The R&D Team Leader, Fast Trak Process Design and Validation Services will be responsible for line managing a team of scientists to support the planning and execution of the technical portion of R&D development or improvement projects for any service in the R&D strategic plan. This may include services and/or products associated with our portfolio of process development, validation or training services. Working from early phase (definition of specs) through concept and design and then into testing and validation. Supervision of facility setup and documentation to support launch of the service to the market.

What you will do:

• Lead a team of microbiological and bioprocess scientists
• Create and support a good innovation culture, exploring and assessing multiple approaches to overcoming technical challenges within R&D projects.
• Support conversion of market requirements into robust technical and performance requirements and service designs
• Assist team in planning and executing feasibility, validation and verification studies to support the launch of new services in line with market and technical requirements.
• Provide support to ensure compliance with quality procedures for product development, laboratory work and Environment, Health & Safety regulations.

Who you are:

• Master's degree or higher in molecular / biology / biochemistry / bioprocessing (or related fields)
• 5+ years strong experience leading and delivering technical projects with innovation/prototyping/feasibility elements
• Highly motivated, with a creative and forward-thinking attitude to problem-solving and troubleshooting. Able to work autonomously to achieve results.
• Leadership experience through line management or project related activities
• Good reporting and presentation skills; able to adjust to different audiences.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Aseptic laboratory methods and techniques
• Upstream or downstream biotechnology unit operations
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and scientific methods
