The Role
Manager, Quality Control & Production
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Quality and Production Manager ensures that manufacturing operations run efficiently while meeting or exceeding quality standards. This role directly contributes to the company's value by:
  • Driving Operational Excellence: Optimizing production processes to maximize output, minimize waste, and reduce costs.
  • Safeguarding Product Quality: Implementing and maintaining rigorous quality control systems to ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Supporting Strategic Goals: Aligning production and quality initiatives with the organization's overall objectives for growth, customer satisfaction, and compliance.

As a Manager, Quality Control & Production, you will be responsible to :
  1. Direct and optimize production operations - Plan, organize, and oversee daily manufacturing activities to achieve output, cost, and efficiency targets.
    Approx. 35%
  2. Develop and implement quality management systems - Establish and maintain robust quality control processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
    Approx. 25%
  3. Lead and manage teams - Recruit, train, and develop staff; set performance goals; conduct evaluations; and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    Approx. 20%
  4. Drive process improvement initiatives - Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    Approx. 10%
  5. Monitor and report performance metrics - Track key indicators for production and quality, prepare reports, and present findings to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
    Approx. 10%

  • Supervisory Responsibility: Full authority for hiring, performance management, and development of production and quality teams.

  • Problem Solving: Regularly addresses complex, varied issues requiring innovative solutions beyond standard procedures.

    • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
    • Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education Level:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field.

Valuable Added Education:
  • Master's degree in operations management, Business Administration (MBA), or Quality Assurance.
  • Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).

Specific Knowledge and Work Experience:
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (FAA, EASA, CAA, AS9100).
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, and root cause analysis tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality management software.

Minimum Years of Experience:
  • 7-10 years in manufacturing or production environments, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role overseeing both production and quality functions.

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Quality Metrics: Maintain defect rates below established thresholds and ensure compliance with ISO or other relevant standards.
  • On-Time Delivery: Meet or exceed delivery schedules for customer orders.
  • Cost Control: Reduce production costs through process improvements without compromising quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement measurable improvements in processes and quality systems each quarter.

Main Interfaces to Other Departments:
  • Supply Chain & Procurement: Coordinate material availability and vendor quality compliance.
  • Engineering: Collaborate on process design, equipment maintenance, and technical problem-solving.
