The Role:

The Manager of Quality Assurance is responsible to work together with the Global Head of QA for defining, implementing, training and executing QA strategy, QA processes and tools within the Hogarth digital team. This is an opportunity for an expert technologist with experience in managing a team of testers and with a complete understanding of client products and technology. As a key member of the Hogarth QA leadership team, core responsibilities will include workflow oversight, process development, technical innovation, financial accountability, career development, walking the team towards automation and collaboration with key stakeholders where needed. 

Responsibilities:

  • Defines QA strategy, approach and execution. 
  • Provides leadership and technical expertise within the QA team. 
  • Partners with Digital Delivery Managers and Test Leads to lead and direct the QA team. 
  • Builds and maintains quality standards as well as enforces technical and testing standards
  • Ensures all tested products and applications meet the highest quality standards 
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases using Cypress for automated end-to-end testing.
  • Monitors all QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis, identifies areas of improvement and implements steps required to improve processes 
  • Ensures development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices of the QA strategy as defined 
  • Gathers and presents testing metrics and activities to key stakeholders 
  • Collaborates with internal Hogarth counterparts and clients to understand timelines and ensure staffing resources are always available 
  • Manages overflow of work when QA resources are fully utilized, including identifying additional resources as required 
  • Actively participates in attracting top talent and employee retention 
  • Focuses on continuous improvement including usage of appropriate testing tools, techniques and test automation  
  • Leads by example and participates in culture development and management  
  • Remains current on technology and trends in quality assurance 
  • Be an agile coach to own and run daily stand up meetings to ensure that the QA projects and process are on track and also help the team to remove any impediments 
  • Be the owner to regulate meetings with the QA team members and Hogarth Global QA Head to ensure that everyone is kept updated about the QA team status and progress. 
  • Be the technical champion by delivering and supporting automation solutions for Quality Assurance 


Requirements:

  • Outstanding technical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, in a continuous delivery environment 
  • Experience managing testing departments or testing functions, managing large and complex activities and processes 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills  
  • Leads by example and through team inspiration 
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and web application development.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks, CI/CD tools, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Sound judgement and able to make decisions in real-time based on sound technical knowledge  
  • Ability to handle multiple projects of varying difficulties; works well under pressure while handling client concerns and escalations 
  • Experience designing automated solutions from scratch to help the QA team on board and actively achieve all agreed milestones as defined on the Automation roadmap 
  • A proven track record of leading teams, managing stakeholders, change management and ability to juggle competing priorities 
  • Proactive and driven to continually manage, mentor and motivate the team 
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting and leading meetings at all levels within the organization 
  • An obsession with detail and extensive technical understanding 
  • Professional experience testing large-scale websites and SaaS applications 
  • Understanding of Client side, Server side concepts, Content Management Systems, Social Networking APIs etc. 
  • Experience working with Agile methodology 
  • Ability to evaluate HTML, CSS and JavaScript changes to determine test strategies 
  • Experience setting up and working with automation tools such as Cypress with javascript, Playwright with typescript and JMeter.
  • Experience of manual testing tools such as TestRail, JIRA to cover Functional, Regression and System Integration Testing 
  • ISTBQ certified/ experienced  

Education and Experience: 

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience  
  • 10+ years’ QA management experience in software or marketing communications environments 
  • Proven history in establishing automation framework in work environment ideally using Cypress (Javascript).
