This role is within our Marketing team and serves as the link between Marketing and Creative teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution. Defines show positioning, sets marketing objectives, and translates strategy into clear creative briefs. Oversee creative alignment with target audience and tone, manages timelines, and ensures consistency across all media platforms.
Job Summary:
The programming strategy team is responsible for analyzing audience insights, tracking ratings, and shaping the content strategy for the channel. The team evaluates weekly BARC data, competitive trends, and cross-platform consumption patterns to identify growth opportunities and potential risks. They collaborate closely with programming, research, marketing, and social listening teams to provide data-backed recommendations that inform scheduling, slotting, and content decisions. With a deep understanding of audience behavior and evolving media trends, the team ensures that programming choices are aligned with viewer preferences and market dynamics. Their work strengthens the channel’s positioning, drives consistent viewership growth, and enables strategic decision-making in a highly competitive entertainment landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly BARC ratings analysis and prepare detailed performance reports
  • Identify reasons for growth or decline of own shows and competition
  • Analyze competition programming strategies and highlight potential threats
  • Develop weekly GRP projections and contribute to AOP ratings forecasts, revising as per universe trends
  • Liaise with BARC team to investigate anomalies in data and ensure accuracy
  • Correlate audience trends across TV and digital platforms (including JHS) to track shifts in preferences
  • Partner with Social Listening team to monitor buzz, sentiment, and online conversations around shows
  • Provide data-backed inputs to programming leadership for scheduling, slotting, and content strategy.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex ratings data and generate actionable insights
  • Deep understanding of television audience behavior and content consumption patterns across platforms
  • Sharp awareness of competition landscape and ability to anticipate industry trends
  • Comfort with ambiguity and agility to adapt plans based on shifting data or external factors
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with programming, research, social listening, and leadership teams
  • Ability to synthesize quantitative data with qualitative insights for well-rounded strategic recommendations
  • Curiosity to explore emerging formats, platforms, and audience engagement drivers
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to present insights in a clear and compelling manner

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Postgraduate degree in Media Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of experience in programming strategy, media planning, audience research, or related fields
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in working with large data sets; familiarity with BARC or similar audience measurement systems a plus
  • From TV industry is an advantage, but we are open to candidates from other industries with strong strategic and analytical backgrounds
  • Proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools (Excel, PowerPoint; BI tools a plus).
