What will you do?
As a Senior Project Manager / Manager in our Program Performance team based in Adelaide, you will play a key role in the delivery of complex infrastructure and capital works projects across Defence and broader government sectors.
You will work closely with clients, project teams and delivery partners to lead projects and major workstreams through planning, design, procurement and delivery phases. Depending on project needs and your experience, you may work across project management, PMCA and contract administration responsibilities on some of South Australia’s most important Defence infrastructure programs.
This is a role for a strong project delivery professional who can lead with confidence, build trusted client relationships, manage commercial and delivery outcomes, and support the development of more junior team members.
Lead the delivery of infrastructure and capital works projects or major project workstreams across planning, design, procurement, construction and handover phases.
Manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, governance and reporting to support successful client outcomes.
Act as a key interface between clients, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders, building strong working relationships and helping to resolve issues proactively.
Provide project management, and/or contract administration support depending on project requirements.
Support the development and implementation of project management plans, procurement strategies, risk registers, design management processes and reporting frameworks.
Monitor project performance and provide clear advice on project status, risks, opportunities and delivery challenges.
Facilitate project meetings, workshops and stakeholder forums to drive alignment, decisions and action.
Contribute to the commercial management of projects, including forecasting, budget management, variations, claims, change management and general contract administration activities where required.
Lead, coach and support junior team members, helping to build capability and maintain a strong delivery culture.
Contribute to business development, client relationship management and the identification of follow-on opportunities.
What are we looking for from you?
We are looking for a strong infrastructure project professional who enjoys solving problems, working with clients and leading delivery in complex environments.
You will ideally bring:
Experience in project management, contract administration, client-side advisory, or construction delivery roles within infrastructure, buildings or capital works projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects or major workstreams, balancing delivery, stakeholder, commercial and reporting requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, consultants and internal teams.
Experience managing project controls such as scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, governance and reporting.
Sound commercial judgement and the ability to identify and manage delivery risks, issues and opportunities.
A collaborative leadership style, with an interest in mentoring junior team members and contributing to team performance.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, construction management, engineering or a related discipline.
Be an Australian Citizen and eligible for security clearance as determined by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Highly regarded
- Experience working on Defence, government or other complex infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Defence Capital Facilities and Infrastructure Branch project environment and the Defence suite of Contracts.
- Working knowledge of contract administration principles, procurement processes and construction delivery practices.

Skills Required
- Minimum 4 years experience in a project management role
- Experience working across complex stakeholder environments and managing competing priorities
- Strong documentation, report writing, and presentation skills
- Ability to assess contractor documentation, including payment and variation claims and extensions of time (EoTs)
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Be an Australian citizen and eligible for security clearance as determined by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA)
